The UTEP football is nearly here & I don't think I need to state the obvious but cheering on our home team is absolutely important. I think the Miners have a shot of having a great season this year. 600 ESPN El Paso's Adrian & Steve give their predictions for the Miners season, Sal Montes think they can go 8-5 & I agree.

This year to get extra excited for the new season, UTEP has announced the 2022 Speaking Rock Pregame Party Zone which will be located in the northern portion of the GR2 parking lot next to the Larry K. Durham Sports Center.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Speaking Rock Entertainment Center...They have truly been a difference maker, not just for UTEP Athletics, but in terms of dramatically enhancing the Miner football game day experience..." - UTEP Director of Athletics Jim Senter

Last year they had Puddle of Mudd open up for the first home game. This year however, we're getting 3 bands who have all shined during the 90s:

For the season opening game, Eve 6 will take the stage this Saturday, August 27th, against North Texas.

Alien Ant Farm will take the stage prior to UTEP’s game versus NM State (Sept. 10). (They will also open up for Sublime with Rome later that night)

And Lit will provide the entertainment in advance of the Miners’ matchup with Boise State (Sept. 23).

Admission is free to the Speaking Rock Pregame Party Zone, which opens three hours prior to kickoff at every Miner football home game. You can get your tickets for any UTEP game right here. Goooo Miners!

The nationally ranked UTSA Roadrunners started fast and never allowed UTEP to get close. The Miners lost the game at the Sun Bowl 44-23 to drop their second straight contest and fall to 6-3 on the season.
