Deer In Texas Goes Viral For Rocking Emo Hairdo
If you're like me and went through a bit of an emo phase, then you'll gladly accept this deer into your circle! Okay, maybe it wasn't just a phase, either way, I think you'll agree that this little guy is now one of us.
A deer in Lago Vista, Texas, is making waves online, and possibly starting a new woodland trend, after locals spotted him rocking a very emo look.
The Fattest Squirrel in Texas Just Claimed his Crown
According to the Lago Vista Police Department, the deer somehow got a hammock tangled in his antlers, giving him what officers hilariously described as a “forest-core fashion moment.” And instead of looking bothered, the deer seems to be absolutely thriving in his so-called “emo era.”
Wait, What’s “Emo”?
For anyone who didn’t live through the eyeliner, MySpace, and skinny-jeans glory days, emo was a 2000s subculture that mixed emotional rock music with moody fashion, I’m talking about those long sideswept bangs, dark clothes, and feelings. Bands like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Secondhand Serenade ruled the scene.
So when police called the deer’s look “emo,” the internet immediately got the joke!
This beautiful scene is set to a meme parody of the 2008 emo anthem “Fall for You” by Secondhand Serenade, sealing our wonderful boy’s status as an internet icon- he's even got the perfect eyeliner! He's totally ready for Warped Tour.
For those worried about the deer’s safety, police assured everyone that he’s perfectly okay. There’s no need for anyone to intervene, since he’ll naturally shed his antlers (and the hammock) before winter’s over. I think my favorite part is where the police said they just don’t want to ruin his vibe.
Our emo deer is safe, stylish, and apparently still out there somewhere in Lago Vista, Texas… probably listening to My Chemical Romance and refusing to smile for photos.
