El Paso Legend Jay J Armes Estate Sale Underway – Take a Peek at What You Can Buy
Lions and tigers and suits, oh my!
Tiger King long before that guy on the Neflix show, Jay J. Armes is holding an estate sale through the weekend and everything must go.
Yes, there's even a few life-sized exotic beasts which at one time roamed his property for sale.
Through Sunday, October 24, everything the colorful El Paso legend and his wife no longer want or couldn’t fit into the smaller country club home they bought has a price.
The Jay J. Armes Estate Sale
The sale, which will take place at the estate at 8118 North Loop Drive, is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day through Sunday.
Items for sale include a 1962 Shadow Rolls Royce, and a bulletproof Cadillac limo.
Looking for a stuffed animal for the man cave, and not the Build A Bear kind? You're in luck.
Want spy equipment or other memorabilia from the Central El Paso office he’s used as home base for his decades long career as a private eye? Name your price.
Paintings, sculptures, jewelry, slot machines, Jay J. Armes books and action figures, and closets full of his and his wife's clothes also have sales tags.
Why Is Jay J. Armes Having an Estate Sale?
From the minute 93.1 KISS-FM first published there was going to be an estate sale, some wondered if Armes had passed away.
No, he’s not dead nor is he broke. It’s pretty simple really, according to Armes. The Lower Valley landmark is just too much house for the almost-90-year-old. And an "estate sale" sounds way fancier than a "yard sale."
How Much for the Mansion?
It took a steep price reduction of over one million dollars, but word is the Lower Valley mansion is off the market with a contract pending.
The two story 9-bedroom, 8 bath home and the acres of land the estate encompasses on North Loop has a prospective buyer has an offer on the table. No word on how much he's willing to pay for it, but its most current listing was for $1.6 million.
It's not known if the potential buyer plans to knock everything down and develop it or will keep it as a residence.
