El Paso Home Hangs Flag Upside Down: Disrespectful or Agreeable?
Almost everyone knows how to respect the American flag and also knows what not to do. We all know the rules about what not to do when it comes to our U.S. flag. The American flag should NEVER be displayed upside down unless you're trying to signal distress or danger.
Well, my son came across a home that had their American flag flying high but upside down. The El Paso home that has its U.S. flag displayed upside down has raised some concern for other locals. We as Americans know right from wrong about handling and hanging the American flag.
But why exactly is this family signaling distress or great danger? One thing for sure is they are gaining attention with what would be considered an eyesore for those who are proud to be an American. Not just that but imagine how others such as veterans and those currently serving feel seeing a sight like that hurts.
But I think it is pretty obvious that this family wasn't very happy about the turnout for the presidential election. In Polk County, Florida some residents hung their American flags upside down after President Joe Biden won the election. There are do's and don'ts when it comes to displaying our American flag.
The U.S. Department of Defense has a list of examples that involve our American flag. Since the presidential election has been over for quite some time, why is their flag upside down? Feel free to leave your two cents about how you feel seeing our American flag hanging upside down in the poll below.
