Texas has some of the best spots to view the total eclipse happening April 8th. If you're planning to watch it from one of them, make sure you pack the right clothing.

Parts of central Texas will be ground zero as far as seeing the upcoming eclipse in "totality". A ton of folks ... from all over the world, not just Texas ... are making their way there to watch.

So many that one Texas county has already declared itself a disaster area. With that in mind, you should plan your travels carefully and that includes your clothes. There are certain things you should totally wear. And some you totally shouldn't.

Believe it or not, the eclipse will cause a "trick of the light" that will make certain colors much cooler to wear than normal. You may even want to wear shades you don't like during the eclipse and leave your faves behind.

What Colors Should You Wear And Which Should You Avoid During The Eclipse?

The eclipse will affect your eyes by what is known as the Purkinje effect.

As the eclipse nears totality, about five minutes prior, the human eye enters the mesopic vision zone, where surroundings begin to look less colorful, turning a gray and silvery color. As the sky darkens, colors, especially warmer ones like red and orange, start to lose vibrancy and saturation, mixing in with the grays. Meanwhile, green shades become brighter and more vibrant. - indystar.com

So, basically, wear red and green while avoiding neutral colors, (black, white, gray, brown), if you really want to "pop" during eclipse 2024.

Keep Those Texas Mosquitoes Away By Wearing One Of These 4 Colors

According to experts, the lighter the color the less likely you are to attract mosquitoes. However, your blood type, sweat, and CO2 (carbon dioxide) output will come into play too.
