‘Yellowstone’ Lands in Texas With New Spinoff
I think it's safe to say that when it comes to Yellowstone and it's vast land of spinoffs, I am officially late to the party. I only recently finished watching the entire Yellowstone series, like, a month ago! But now it looks like I may be invested in the Dutton's life once again.
But, really, the timing couldn’t be more perfect because the Duttons are heading somewhere very familiar to me, and the rest of us: Texas.
Yellowstone Heads to Texas in a Major New Chapter
Rip and Beth are officially trading Montana for the Lone Star State in the new spinoff Dutton Ranch, and somehow it just makes sense, and also made me think “about damn time!”

The new series picks up after the end of Yellowstone, following Beth and Rip as they try to start over on a brand-new ranch in South Texas. But if you’ve watched even one episode of this show, you already know “starting over” never really means peaceful.
Instead, they’re stepping into a whole new world filled with rival ranches, new enemies, and plenty of new adventures, because wherever the Duttons go, drama tends to follow.
Yellowstone Has Always Had Strong Texas Roots
While this might feel like a big shift for the show, Yellowstone and Texas have actually been connected for a while.
From creator Taylor Sheridan- who has deep Texas ties- to multiple scenes, filming locations, and storylines tied to the Lone Star State, the Texas influence has always been there.
So bringing Rip and Beth all the way to Texas? It almost feels like a full-circle moment.
And let’s be real, if any couple belongs in a place known for big personalities, bigger land, and even bigger rivalries, it’s definitely these two!

There’s just something about the idea of Beth Dutton walking into a Texas ranch like she owns the place- and honestly, she might- that makes this feel like must-watch TV for me.
Whether you’re a longtime Yellowstone fan or, like me, just now catching up, this next chapter feels like one you don’t want to miss. And now? A whole lot of Texas attitude thrown into the mix. Let’s just say, things are about to get very interesting.
