El Pasoans Believe They Know What Might Have Caused the De Soto Fire
By now, you have heard about the De Soto Hotel and how the El Paso Fire Department has found that the cause of the fire was undetermined- and as a result, they have closed the case.
According to an investigator with the El Paso Fire Department, who spoke to KFOX, they have ruled it down to two causes:
While the fire department believes that the fire might have "started toward" the second floor, they can't be certain on where the fire originated from.
So the case is close- however, many El Pasoans are not too convinced with the answer, so much so that many have decided to come up with their own conclusion as to what might have caused the fire.
While the fire department has belief that the fire could have been started by people, lots of El Pasoans believe there was something more supernatural happening. Yeah, that's right, they believe it was ghosts!
It might seem silly, and these comments might have been facetious, but a majority of the comments all lead to ghosts!
It shouldn't come as a surprise that many believe it was a more supernatural cause, the De Soto is known for being extra spooky; but are ghosts even capable of causing fires?! I'll be honest, my first thought was "did someone leave an oily rag in there?!"
We may actually never know what caused the fire- but that's not going to stop many El Pasoans from assuming it was the ghost- or maybe aliens?
Maybe we need another episode of "Ghost Adventures" and Zak can ask the ghosts what they know, maybe get the ghosts to clear their name because El Paso is totally putting the blame on them!
