City of El Paso Celebrates Act of Kindness Day This August 3rd
The City of El Paso has declared August 3rd Act of Kindness Day to honor those we lost one year ago. Find out the ways we can participate and heal together. The City of El Paso, El Paso County, and the El Paso United Family Resiliency Center are coming together to host various events around the city and online to bring people together to honor the loved ones lost on that day and unite a community that is still healing from those horrific events. The commemoration events will be held throughout El Paso and will incorporate various aspects of El Paso history, lifestyle, and culture.
The City of El Paso has locally declared August 3rd Act of Kindness Day, a day where everyone and anyone, groups or even individuals can do a small gesture for someone else. El Pasoans are being asked to wear white this Monday, August 3rd in solidarity with the movement. To participate, just do something nice for someone else. That's it. To help you get started and get the creative juices flowing, they've even given some ideas on what you can do. Some of their suggestions include small acts of kindness like bringing in an elderly neighbor's trash cans, leaving a water bottle out for your mail carrier, or picking up trash you see on the ground. Larger acts of kindness that you can do include donating blood, volunteering at your local food bank or animal shelter, or buying a meal for a homeless person. You can check out their entire list of suggestions at the Love For El Paso website. People who participate in El Paso's Act fo Kindess Day are asked to post photos on social media and use the hashtag #loveforelpaso and tag the @elpasounitedfrc Instagram page.
