It didn't last long but, yep, that's exactly what they did.

The University of California at Irvine student body government decided that no flags should be flown at the university.  The executive cabinet quickly vetoed the ban.

A vote on where the American flag can or can't be flown?  Really?  WTF?  Studies by the Pew Research Center may explain this as they indicate that 20-somethings are the least patriotic generation ever. An article at yahoo.com, found that only 32% of millennials agree that America is the greatest country in the world.

Other studies argue that the millennials are actually more patriotic thanks to the times they came of age in.  I think, with no math to back it up mind you, that if you adjust for the difference in America's population from one generation to the next, the "patriot percentage" is probably about the same.

Especially when you look at the number of millennials who answered their generations call to service. From WW II, to Vietnam to all those I've met fresh from the battlefields of the Middle East.  I think the millennials, despite a misguided or even ignorant few, are ok.

What do you think?
