The summer heat may back off a little as Hell freezes over - Iconic Texas musician and longtime marijuana advocate Willie Nelson says he's no longer tokin'.

Willie Nelson has had a long and storied music and movie career as well as some legendary ups and downs. Over the last 4 or 5 decades though, it seems like he's been better known as marijuana's most beloved ambassador.

Despite all the flack he has taken here and there for his pro marijuana attitude and 4 arrests for possession ... he was one of several artists busted in Sierra Blanca, near El Paso ... he has proudly and downright flagrantly kept on puffin'. Those days are over.

The 92 year old Texas icon who once "blazed" on the roof of the White House recently released a new album, debuted new THC infused drinks called "Willie's Remedy" and has his very own line of pot.

Aside from maybe Snoop Dogg, he's probably the biggest marijuana proponent out there but says he no longer smokes it. Speaking of Snoop, he and Willie are ... pun way intended ... "buds".

Nelson said that he and Snoop, 53, "smoked a lot of marijuana and had a lot of fun." "I was over in Amsterdam and I called him, I said, 'Come on over here and let's have some fun,'" Nelson recalled at the time. - people.com

During their "Amsterdam Adventure", Snoop says Willie is the only one who "outsmoked" him. (My money would have been on Willie too.) Don't worry though, he's still everybody's favorite pothead.

Like all true artists though, tokers too have to grow and change with the times ... especially when you have 92 year old lungs ... so, now, Willie eats it. An edible or two a day keeps the doctor away I guess. It also keeps the music coming, Willie's new album, "Oh What A Beautiful World", was released in April.
