A northwest El Paso elementary school that had an American flag themed paint job has been ordered to paint over it.

Reyes Elementary school, part of the Canutillo Independent School District in the Cimarron subdivision of northwest El Paso, had a wall painted in what KTSM.com called a "patriotic color scheme".  The article said the wall was repainted because:

When CISD purchased the land from Hunt Communities in 2011, the District signed a legal agreement stating the look of the new campus would line up with the mostly brown-hued earth tones.

Apparently, public opposition to painting over the mural was pretty strong but they repainted it anyway.

I think, with the design being on a school as opposed to a business or something, it should have been allowed to stay.  How about you?
