More Direct Flights Coming To El Paso

Flying out of El Paso is pretty easy overall and it may be about to get even easier with more direct flights.

As far as airports go, El Paso has one of the best ones when it comes to being "user friendly". I've traveled quite a bit, both in and out of the country, and, when compared to all the other airports I've dealt with, El Paso International is a dream.

DFW is HUGE. How huge? An entire city, of over 1 million, will fit within its footprint - and it's not even the biggest one in the USA. Denver is massive too as well as Houston, LA, Atlanta ... the list goes on. ELP is easy - you walk in, clear security, (leave your pot at home unless you have a medical card), turn either right or left and chill at your gate. Simple.

Flying From El Paso Gets Easier

Now, on top of how easy it is to navigate, ELP will soon start offering more direct flights. Non-stop service to almost 20 cities via the major carriers already depart from El Paso. Now, Southwest Airlines is going to add a non-stop hop to Nashville, Tennessee.

In addition, TAR Mexico, the largest regional airline in Mexico, is expected to enter the El Paso market with flights to Chihuahua City. - ktsm

Non - stop flights to Cancun have also been discussed, (which would be awesome because I love Cancun), and a train has also been proposed to carry travelers from ELP to the airport in Juarez where even more, nonstop, Mexican destinations are available.

Why Fly From Juarez? 'Cuz It's Cheaper

Flights out of Juarez are, (usually), WAY cheaper than from the US which makes the train idea a good one for peeps in the Borderland whether it's to find a direct flight or not. For example, as I write this, a flight from El Paso - Cancun, for 2, will set you back $1,753.74. Meanwhile, I found a flight for 2 from Juarez to Cancun for only $497.98.
