The El Paso Gene Roddenberry Planetarium is holding a free event February 23rd. "Perfect Little Planet", an animated look at the 8 major planets ... not counting Earth ... shows Friday evening, (2/23), at 5:30pm.
A little history on the Planetarium from The El Paso Herald-Post:
Since it’s creation in 1969, the planetarium has hosted well over two and a half million students from the El Paso Independent School District and students from all around the El Paso region.
As part of an initiative to enhance science education in America, the El Paso Public School system, the Junior League of El Paso, and the National Science Foundation pooled their resources and constructed our ‘gateway to the Universe’.
The Planetarium was named in honor of former El Pasoan Gene Roddenberry, known primarily for his work on the 60's TV Show Star Trek and the early Star Trek movies.
