Really Cool Weekend Getaway Idea – Ride To Silver City

If you're looking for a break from the norm this weekend that also includes an escape from the heat and lots of motorcycles, Silver City is the place.

It's not even, (officially), summer yet and El Paso is already getting pretty warm. Fortunately, we're just a couple of hours away from good times, live music and much cooler temperatures.

Friday and Saturday, the "Take A Ride On The Wild Side Bike Rally" takes place in Santa Clara. The Brown Derby nightclub is where the end parties are both days in honor of their years of charitable service.

You don't really have to have a motorcycle to be a part of the rally. It's more fun that way though, just sayin'.

• Friday: Meet 'n greet/welcome party with live entertainment, food and drink specials and prize giveaways. $15 per person for both days of the rally.
• Saturday: $20 per person, ride includes lunch and chances to win prizes. Last bike in at 5:00, bbq dinner from 5:30-7:30, Whiplash performs at 8.

Saturday, after the ride, it's back to the Brown Derby for a yummy bbq dinner, tons of chances to win cool prizes, drink specials and live rock from the one and only Whiplash.

Kickstands up, (that's biker talk for "GO"), at noon on Saturday.

Ride or drive, it's an easy cruise. Just take I-10 west from El Paso or Las Cruces to Deming, then US 180 to Santa Clara/Silver City.
