5 Random Facts – Spam, VHS Tapes + Much More

1. Hormel is the company that makes Spam, and they HATE that junk email is called spam.  So no one in the company is allowed to call it that.  They're supposed to call it "unwanted email."

I’d actually rather eat unwanted e-mail than Spam the meat product.

2. The Chumbivilcas Province in southwest Peru doesn't celebrate Christmas on December 25th.  They celebrate a holiday called Takanakuy, where you're legally allowed to have a fist fight with anyone you've had a problem with that year.

This sounds almost like the rules of Festivus.

3. The tallest statue in America is the Statue of Liberty . . . the second tallest is Pegasus fighting a dragon outside a horse racing track in Florida.

4. After "The Godfather", James Caan won New York's Italian of the Year award two times . . . even though his parents were Jewish immigrants from Germany.

They should’ve named a toll-booth after him while they were at it.

5. The last movie ever released on VHS was "A History of Violence" in 2006.

I ‘m really surprised that the hipsters haven’t made new movies on VHS trendy like they’ve done with vinyl albums.
