31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 19 – Evil Dead II

The movies that made Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi cult heroes, the Evil Dead series combines camp, schlock and horror into a fast-paced, impossible-to-stop-watching series of films. Yes, the first two movies were basically the same film, but watching both is still a really good time!

Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn (1987)

Sam Raimi really made a mark in the cult-movie world with the first Evil Dead movie, and when he got a little bit more money, he decided to make a sequel to the film, which seems to be more of a remake than an actual sequel. Bruce Campbell really shines in this and the next film in the series, "Army of Darkness", but it's the cool movie that keeps you locked in. The low, fast camera work representing the evil travelling at high speed after people is really cool, and the chainsaw attachment is now a movie classic!
