Worst April Fools Day Pranks Ever – Dubba G Escapes Juarez Bar
It's April Fools Day. The one day of the year people feel they have a right to pull the same crap on each other they do the rest of the year but, without risking retaliation!
Some people come up with some pretty ingenious stuff, others ... notsomuch. Some are just wrong so, here are a few April Fools Fails:
- In '96, Taco Bell claimed to have purchased the Liberty Bell and renamed it the Taco Liberty Bell. They had to fess up to that one quick to stop the negative tide of reactions.
- In 2000, the Romanian edition of Playboy published an article written (supposedly) by a police officer on how to beat your wife without leaving any marks. Playboy issued an international apology almost immediately!
- Also in 2000 and also in Romania (Those Romanians are mean!) the friends and family of a bunch of political prisoners got word they were being released from prison. At the prison, they were told "April Fools!" Low, just plain low.
My worst? We were partying in Juarez once and my friends knew that my spanish sucks. So, they sent me across a very crowded bar (that looked like it came straight out of a Quentin Tarantino movie) with 2 key phrases in mind. "Donde esta el bano" ("where is the bathroom?") and "Cabron". Cabron, I was told, meant "excuse me". It doesn't.
Fortunately, I got out of there alive. I think my bros told the crowd I was retarded.
