The 2020 season is certainly going to be a different one for the Dallas Cowboys. First off, it was already going to be different as Mike McCarthy takes over the head coaching duties after Jason Garrett spent a decade at the helm. Garrett has since moved on to be the offensive coordinator job with the New York Giants. Add the COVID-19 pandemic to the mix and you have the makings for a really weird season. Oh, and Dak Prescott also isn't under a long contract. He's playing this season under the franchise tag.

But what can we expect from this team? Well, according to the experts, they had a pretty good draft. They got CeeDee Lamb in the first round to add to the offensive arsenal that was already top notch last season. Then they went defense with the next 3 picks getting a couple of cornerbacks and a defensive tackle. They're also getting a healthy Leighton Vander Esch back from neck surgery, and he apparently feels as good as ever.

Expectations should be high for the Cowboys or this year. Even if they don't win the division, as long as they win one playoff game, maybe two, that's okay. But just okay doesn't cut it when you have Dak and Zeke and Amari in the primes. Plus guys like Vander Esch and Lamb. In order for this to be a successful season for the Cowboys, they have to make at least the Conference Championship. There's too much talent on this team for anything less to be considered a success. And that's going to be tough because the Niners aren't going anywhere, the Saints are going to be great again, the Eagles will probably be right back in the mix, and don't forget about the fully loaded Tampa team with Brady and Gronk. But I'll call it right now, Cowboys at least make the conference championship this season.
