If you've been following Cristo Fernández's journey with the El Paso Locomotive, you already know things have gotten off to a pretty great start! The Ted Lasso star has quickly become a fan favorite in the Borderland, making his professional soccer dream a reality while bringing plenty of excitement along with him.

Now, it looks like his fictional team has finally caught up.

AFC Richmond Finally Gives Dani Rojas His "Official" Sendoff

The Instagram account for AFC Richmond, the fictional soccer club from Ted Lasso, shared what looked like a heartfelt transfer announcement for Dani Rojas, Fernández's endlessly optimistic character from the hit Apple TV+ series.

The post officially bid farewell to Dani as he starts his new journey with the El Paso Locomotive, treating it like one of the biggest soccer transfers of the season.

(For anyone wondering, yes, the account is a fan-run parody- but it's the kind of post that feels like it could have come straight from the team’s actual social media team!)

The El Paso Locomotive Couldn't Resist Playing Along

The best part came after the post went live.

The El Paso Locomotive jumped into the comments with the perfect response:

We'll take good care of him.

That's all it took!

The exchange turned into a fun crossover between Fernández's fictional soccer world and his very real one in El Paso. Considering how warmly he's already been welcomed by Locomotive fans, the reply couldn't have been more fitting.

It's exactly the kind of wholesome humor Ted Lasso has become known for, and fans of both the show and the club seemed to love it.

The timing couldn't be much better.

Ted Lasso is set to return for Season 4 on August 4, bringing AFC Richmond back to television after more than three years away.

Meanwhile, Fernández has been busy writing his own soccer story in El Paso. Since joining the Locomotive, he's quickly become a fan favorite, with Borderland supporters embracing both the actor and the professional soccer player behind one of the show's most beloved characters.

So while Dani Rojas may have just received his "official" farewell from AFC Richmond, El Paso has already been cheering him on for weeks.
