West El Paso Traffic is Screwed for the Next 4 Years

I-10 between Resler and Executive Center is in for some major upgrades and they're going to cause some major problems.  Construction on an access road, additional lanes and new ramps begins in April and is expected to take 4 years to complete.  4 YEARS!! During that time, I-10 will frequently be closed forcing traffic onto Mesa and other side streets.  I-10 will also experience some major slow downs and lane closures.  For 4 years.

TxDOT officials recommended that west siders heading east use Transmountain Road and those heading downtown use Mesa.  They also said a website and smart phone app should be up by summer giving real time traffic info as well as other driver advice.
