Want to Propose at an El Paso Chihuahuas Game? What to Know
The proposal is a big relationship moment. While every proposal is special, I think it's more memorable when it incorporates a couple’s unique bond.
Let’s say you love baseball and you love her, and she loves baseball and even though she’s way out of your league she's willing to settle for you, then maybe game day at the ballpark might be the perfect time and place to wife her.
Public proposals can be adorably cheesy or can go horribly wrong.
Thankfully, it worked out for the three guys who popped the question at Southwest University Park during the 2021 El Paso Chihuahuas season.
If you're going to swing for the fence and walk out of the stadium happily ever after I have a couple of suggestions. First, make sure she’s okay with very public displays of affection so that she doesn't run off mortified and your misguided attempt ends up going viral.
And two, make sure you're sure she’ll say yes. Or, at the very least, nods her head.
An affirmative head nod is just as good. Anything that looks or sounds like a yes when you have a large crowd and a six-foot-tall Chihuahua watching is way better than a swing and a miss, amirite?
What To Do If You Want to Propose at a Chihuahuas Game
With scoreboard marriage proposal season here again, here's how to hit it out of the park, so to speak, and what it'll cost you to get down on bended knee and put a ring on it in front of the hometown crowd.
This is word-for-word from the Ballpark Guidelines section of the El Paso Chihuahuas website:
To request a marriage proposal, please call Andy Imfeld (915) 242-2043. There is a $500 fee for all proposals. Requests must be submitted a minimum of two weeks prior to requested date. Requests received on gameday may not be honored. A request is not a guarantee. Proceeds go directly to the El Paso Chihuahuas Foundation for its community initiatives.
Mazel Tov. Wishing you lots of home games together.
