El Paso Baseball Park Shines Bright, Earns MLB’s Seal of Approval

El Paso, Texas has had a vast history with baseball, from the El Paso Diablos playing at Cohen Stadium & Dudley Field before that. Since 2014, the main place for El Paso baseball has been Southwest University Park; home to the El Paso Chihuahuas in the Pacific Coast League for the minor leagues. For the fans it's a great place for baseball & El Paso hasn't been the only one giving Southwest University Park high marks, so has one writer within the MLB itself.

Who has said El Paso's Southwest University Park is the best?

Benjamin Hill, a writer for MLB, has visited over 100 different Minor League ballparks. Earlier this year he picked the best minor league stadiums for Single A, High-A, Double-A & Triple-A. And who was his picked the best stadium in the Triple A category? That's right. El Paso.

And finally he gave El Paso huge marks for the extremely lively fans that are present at the games. If you've been to a Chihuahuas game, then you already know how pumped up the crowds can get.

While El Paso might not have a major league team right now (and if you want to enjoy major league baseball in Texas, you'd have to travel to either Houston or Dallas to catch an Astros/Texas Rangers game). But it's great to see that despite being a minor league stadium, El Paso has been getting the credit it deserves.
