Anytime you go to an El Paso Chihuahuas home game, no matter who's there or who the team is playing against, one thing that's for certain, you always heard Andy Imfeld at the games. For over 10 years, Andy would always be the one you'd hear on the commercials & interacting with the crowd in the stadium during game day.

Just like Tim Hagerty would bring the play by play commentary & became the VOICE of the Chihuahuas, Andy easily became one of the most well known FACES for the Chihuahuas.

One of my favorite moments is watching Andy lip sync "Shout" by The Isley Brothers while getting the crowd pumped up too.

No matter if it was hyping up the crowd, or playing with Chico, it was always done to make sure the fans had a great time at the ballpark.

But in an interview with 600 ESPN El Paso during Sports Talk, Andy gave us a shocking announcement...

El Paso will be saying goodbye to Andy Imfeld this weekend

While appearing on Sports Talk on Tuesday, August 13th, Andy gave us the sad news that would be moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and will be working for PNC Bank as an associate marketing lead for the Midwest regional team. As a result, this will mark the end of his time with the EP Chihuahuas baseball team. Andy reflected on the fact that he was originally here just for 6 months but stayed here for all 11 years with the Chihuahuas, as well as some of his favorite moments with the team.

Some of his favorite moments included the first home game on April 28, 2014, the Home Run Derby game in 2019, and every opening games for a new season. When asked on what he wishes the fans will remember him for, this was his response:

"I hope they will just remember the good times, the fun we've had over the years...it really has become a tradition here in El Paso...even in the last couple of years I've had fans come up to me and say 'Man I came to games when I was a kid and now I have my newborn son or daughter and they're bringing THEIR kids to games'. How special is that that you can create those moments for THAT individual when they were a kid...that they want to continue that on & bring their children to Chihuahuas games?...I hope that continues to cycle & we create Chihuahuas fans for life".

Andy's final game at Southwest University Park will be Sunday,  August 18th (and yes he will be there at the home games before then too). You can hear Andy give plenty of interviews on 600 ESPN El Paso's YouTube Channel.

As is tradition here, the 600 ESPN crew of course had to have Andy sign his names with the other legends who have visited us on the sign just outside our studios.

It will be hard saying goodbye to such an iconic name in El Paso sports history but we here want to say thank you for the memories Andy! You will always have a home here in El Paso, Texas; fetch the fun in Pittsburgh & wherever else you go man.
