UTEP Minerpalooza Is Back This Year & Anyone Can Enjoy In Person

Last year, UTEP's Minerpalooza was all done virtual (due to reasons we ALL know by now). But not this year! 2021 marks the 31st anniversary of Minerpalooza & going on August 27th, & best of all, it WILL be returning to the UTEP Campus so you can enjoy ALL the food, musical artists & festivities IN PERSON.

This year's Minerpalooza will be 6pm to 11pm on the 27th in the Glory Road 2 parking lot north of Sun Bowl Stadium. Just like with every year, they'll have plenty of food vendors, activities, and of course, a lot of musical entertainment. This year they were having a Battle of the Bands competition where people could vote online between 5 local rock bands: Coco Butter, Soul Parade, Le Voyage, Tony Jupiter & Rivers Ventura with the final 2 acts will be performing on the 27th. This year's Minerplaooza also takes place one day before the UTEP Miners football season starts: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 28, against New Mexico State University at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

The main musical acts this year are NOT rock artists, but they were HUGE hip hop stars. The Ying Yang Twins,

Petey Pablo,

& Coolio

It's a bit of a bummer they couldn't get any rock artists for this year but the last time people could actually attend Minerpalooza was back in 2019. So it's nice to see that people can have the pleasure & opportunity to attend in person again in 2021, instead of being behind a computer screen.
