UTEP got 4 spots on a list of top colleges for Hispanics.

The Hispanic Outlook on Education magazine's annual Top 100 list of the best colleges and universities for Hispanics is out and the University of Texas at El Paso made the cut 4 times, in 4 categories!

According to an El Paso Herald-Post article, UTEP came in at number 5 for total Hispanic enrollment at 4-year colleges and number 8 for total Hispanic graduate degrees granted. They are also in the top 10 for the number of degrees awarded to Hispanic students in two majors. Those being bilingual, multilingual or multicultural education ... where they got to number 1 ... and parks, recreation, leisure and fitness studies, where they took number 9. (See the list here.)

The breakdown for Hispanic students at UTEP, according to the El Paso Herald-Post, was:

Hispanic students made up 80 percent of UTEP’s enrollment in 2017, the year on which the rankings were based. Of the 25,078 students who enrolled at UTEP that year, 20,108 were Hispanic.
