As a kid of any generation I'm sure you can remember waking up on a Saturday morning and watching cartoons accompanied with a bowl of cereal. Everyone had a favorite cereal, I'm sure, but none was more whimsical than Trix. (Don't start on me with Lucky Charms because those marshmallow's are the devil!) If you were a child of the '90's like me, then you remember a time where Trix was shaped like actual fruit. Between 1991 and 2006, fruit shaped Trix were all the rage for Millennial's across the nation. So Imagine my surprise when a few years ago I bought Trix and noticed that they were ball shaped?! According to General Mills, the ball shape was the original shape when the cereal debuted in 1954. Lame, I know. But, rejoice with me, Millennial's because those fruity shapes are coming back!

General Mills announced that due to an "overwhelming number of Trix fans who have been calling, emailing and reaching out on social media" all us '90's kids can rejoice because those fruity shapes are hitting shelves THIS MONTH!  Scott Baldwin, director of marketing for General Mills Cereal said:

"Bringing back shapes required the cooperation of a cross-functional team of people. From research and development ensuring the shapes were just like fans remember to our plant and operations teams actually producing the cereal shapes, the teams worked tirelessly to ensure the shapes are just as our fans remember.”

I can't wait to buy a box (or two, I'm an adult now!) and pour myself a bowl of Trix on a Saturday morning and watch some cartoons! Introducing my nephews to this is going to be so exciting for me!
