Watch out, all my fellow plus-sized ladies, the Torta Patrol is prowling the streets of Texas!

What is a "Torta"?

If you're thinking of the delicious Mexican sandwich, you would be right! But, in this case, the word "torta" has evolved into something else. A "Torta" is used to describe a heavy-set woman- usually perceived as unattractive due to the extra weight.

The term can be used interchangeably between endearing and derogatory- just depends on the message you want to convey, but it's usually used as a derogatory term towards bigger women.

Well, apparently the streets of McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley have seen an uptick in torta's and some will not stand for it because the Torta Police is on the prowl as evident from this TikTok video courtesy of user @stevebonilla88. 

The goal of the Torta Patrol? To prevent "Thottish behavior"! That's right, size does not matter when it comes to thottish behavior.

Such was also the case in McAllen when someone snapped up these pics of the patrol truck.

This isn't the first time that a truck/patrol was out to prevent thottish behavior! Not too long ago we saw a "sucia patrol" hitting the streets of San Antonio.

Now, I wasn't fully aware of the sucia problem in San Antonio; but I am familiar with the culture. I'm from El Paso, and I've definitely had my fair share of run-ins with sucias!

It's not an easy job, but I guess someone has to do it!
