Another Texas city wants to let its residents decide whether marijuana should be legalized and 'da 'Guv ain't happy about it. It's not El Paso but it is close by ...

Several Texas cities have recently opted NOT to prosecute certain marijuana possession cases and the Texas "high 'n mighty" are split on the matter. Some cities are ok with maintaining the status quo, others want to ditch the anti-pot mantra all together and some are dead set against legal ganja.

Those that are on the fence are pretty much just waiting to see how it all shakes, (no pun intended), out while the others are very polarized on the subject. For or against.

Several cities in Texas have said, you know what; this isn't that big of a deal, ease up. Which, for what it's worth, is how I see it. Governor Abbott and his AG, Ken Paxton, don't see it that way at all.

They actually want to sue cities that won't toss pot smokers in the clink. (Insert eye rolling, SMDH style, emoji here.) Lubbock has now opted to let their residents decide how to handle small time possession charges and Governor Abbott and company are already squawking.

Austin, San Marcos, Killeen, Elgin, and Denton are already facing their wrath.  Lubbock, despite what is happening elsewhere, are now stepping up and saying they want to decide for themselves as well.

Way to go Lubbock. Even though you see the BS threatening the others, you're still being true Texans. Standing by your beliefs, sticking to your guns and thinking of your peeps before politics. Much love.
