Blackfish was an award-winning documentary in 2013 that calls out SeaWorld parks for their treatment of orcas aka “killer whales”. Does SeaWorld mistreat their orcas? I don’t know because I never watched Blackfish.

If orcas ARE mistreated, one of them in Texas got revenge for the most disgusting kind last week.

This happened last week at SeaWorld in San Antonio.

In case the video doesn’t work or you don’t want to watch it…the whale has a bowel movement in the pool. Seconds later, it does an epic splash that COVERS the first five rows in the now-sullied whale poop water.

What really makes the video are the expressions of the faces of the kids sitting a row in front of the filmer of this video. Their faces perfectly express the rapid range of emotions they’re having. Disgust. Followed by concern then panic. Then back to disgust again.

Now, orcas are highly intelligent marine mammals, not fish as the title of the movie might lead you to believe. HIGHLY intelligent.

I think this whale knew EXACTLY what it was doing. It’s probably been plotting this for years.

The commenters mostly agree. The whale did this on purpose and GOOD FOR THE WHALE!!

Another recurring comment I noticed: “I thought SeaWorld went out of business!”

Now that I think about it, it IS kind of surprising that SW is still keeping orcas after the bad publicity of Blackfish.

SeaWorld San Antonio currently has five (5!) killer whales in captivity.  The park has announced that this current generation of orcas would be the LAST at the parks. Most of the orcas at SeaWorld now were born in captivity.  Once the last one passes away, SeaWorld says they will stop their whale breeding programs.

Great. Now I’m sad for that last, lonely orca wondering where all his friends went. Thanks, SeaWorld.
