Texas Waffle House Worker’s Good Deed Will Make You Ugly Cry
I love Waffle House! We don't have one here in town but every time I'm in a town where they do have one it's always my number one stop! I always have a great time at Waffle House, the food is great and the workers are always amazing! They're always friendly which is why this story deserves some recognition!
In La Marque, Texas, Evoni Williams works at the Waffle House when one day her good deed went viral! A local woman named Laura Wolf snapped a picture of Evoni, who is 18 years old, helping an elderly customer cut up his food. You can check out the picture here. I don't know about you but every time I see an elderly person eating alone, I get so sad. To many of us, this act may have been small but for this man, it may have meant the world.
But it doesn't end there! Evoni, who has been working at Waffle House since she graduated high school and is saving up for college, got a great surprise after the picture went viral. Not only did the Mayor honor the worker, but then Texas Southern University awarded her with a $16,000 scholarship. It's something so amazing for someone who says that what she did is something she would do any other day.
Many haters say we shouldn't highlight things like this because it's something that everyone should already be doing, but with all the negativity in the news these days, it's always great to highlight stories like this. It doesn't cost anything to be kind, and it's definitely reassuring to know that people like this still exist. Now, excuse me while I ugly cry.
