Texas Rangers’ Mariachi Crew Rocks Out with Creed Cover
It looks like we're watching the Texas Rangers' and Creed's friendship blossom before our very eyes!
If you'll remember, not too long ago, The Rangers began listening to Creed in the clubhouse before games as a means of "having fun" while dealing with the "rollercoaster of the second half" of the MLB season, per Rangers pitcher Andrew Heaney.
Well, Creed really helped out the Rangers because they ended up winning the World Series, their first since 1961! Since then, Creed has almost become synonymous with The Rangers- well, at least in the world of baseball.
Now, it looks like their friendship is just getting better and better! At Monday's Texas Rangers game against the New York Mets at the Rangers’ Globe Life Field, none other than a mariachi band took the stage to cover one of Creed's most famous songs: Higher!
I am not kidding when I say that I would buy a whole album of this mariachi group's cover of Creed songs!
The good news? This is part of "Mariachi Mondays" where the band will play in the pre-game and in-between select innings at the Texas field.
Unfortunately, The Rangers aren't doing so hot right now. They're currently third in the American League West division with a record of 33-39 behind the Mariners and the Astros (at least at the time of this writing!). So, Creed did not take them higher there at all.
I don't really know that means, but what I do know is that if they had a mariachi band playing some dad-rock hits at games, I'd go to baseball games more often! In fact, I think they really need to add mariachis to every baseball game now!
