A new report by WalletHub has named Texas the second best state for singles, just in time for Valentine's Day. February is known as the month of love, where you see plenty of pink hearts and red roses in every aisle at the store.

The holiday of love is a little different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic since many are now opting for virtual dates instead of in-person interactions. Still, there are those brave singles out there who are willing to risk an in-person interaction to see if love is in the air, instead of COVID.

Personal-finance website WalletHub decided to look at different factors that affect virtual and in-person dating to see which states are the best for singles looking for love.

The website compared all 50 states across 3 different categories including dating opportunities, dating economics, and romance and fun. Some of the 27 key dating indicators include the number of single adults, gender balance in the state, virtual dating opportunities, the cost of an average date, the cost to get ready for a date, plus the number of restaurants and date activities in the state.

Using the above metrics, Texas came out pretty high on the list. Texas tied with four other states as number one for the number of restaurants and movie theaters per Capita. See where Texas ranked overall on the report below.
