Being attacked by a shark isn't the most likely thing to have happen while you're on vacay...not as likely as robbery, lost luggage or even plane crashes anyway...but, it could happen.

AOL.com listed the top 10 states with the most shark attacks. Texas came in at number 6, thanks to Galveston's 41 unprovoked shark attacks. (How many "provoked" shark attacks were there?) Number one went to one of our wackier states. Good old Florida reported 748 shark attacks. Hawaii and California were a distant 2nd and 3rd with 143 and 116 shark attacks, respectfully.

Don't cancel your beach plans just yet though! The odds of you getting knocked off by a shark (1 in 3,748,067) are still WAY less than the odds of you dying in a car crash (1 in 84) or because of fireworks (1 in 340,733).

El Paso's sandy beach areas remain shark attack ... and water ... free.
