Cops On The Border In Texas Committing More Crimes
When it comes to crimes in Texas, obviously, criminals are committing way more than law enforcement officers but Texas cops do seem to be ramping things up a bit.
Texas' "bigger, better, best" attitude applies to just about everything but this particular (dis)honor is one that most Texans ... especially the police ... aren't very proud of.
The number of crimes committed by law enforcement agents on the border in Texas is rising. Not quite 3 months into 2025, a number of law enforcement peeps in Texas have been jailed. Some for some pretty F'd up things.
First of all, let's be real. Bad guys far outnumber good guys and good cops far outnumber crooked ones. When a person trusted to uphold the law breaks it instead, that makes it worse though and recent border issues seem to be making it more common.
What Cops Have Been Busted In Texas?
Most recently, a Border Patrol agent here in El Paso was busted for smuggling people across the border and drug possession. Only 56 days into 2025, (at the time of this writing) at least 6 law enforcement peeps have been, (or could be), jailed:
- Hidalgo: A former Sheriff’s deputy got 46 months in prison for conspiracy to possess and intent to distribute over 500 grams of cocaine.
- Webb County: A former Sheriff’s deputy could get life if convicted of allegedly sexually assaulting the driver of a car he stopped. He may also be charged with kidnapping, bodily injury and more
- Webb County: A former correctional officer recently pled guilty to sexually assaulting two female inmates. He could also get life.
- Hondo: A former Border Patrol agent just got 50 years for allegedly producing and distributing "sexually explicit" pics and video of a child victim.
- Eagle Pass: A former female police officer drew a 10 year sentence for human smuggling and running a stash house.
