The good news is, Austin, Texas didn't fall off too far from the top 50- and even better, another Texas city did make it to the top 50! Considering the list, recently revealed by Resonance Consultancy, ranks to World's 100 Best Cities, I think the Texas cities that did make it on the entire list fared well!

In the ranking, Austin, Texas came in at number 53- it is a bit of a difference from last year, where it ranked at no. 43.

However, this year, surpassing Austin and coming in at no. 40 of World's 100 Best Cities is Houston, Texas!

Of Houston, Resonance Consultancy wrote:

Austin may get the attention, but the promise of the Lone Star State drawing Californians and New Yorkers is quietly being fulfilled in Houston. The metro population is above seven million for the first time, and the city today is one of America’s most ethnically diverse, with more than 145 languages spoken at home—about even with New York—according to the latest census.

The ranking doesn't specifically explain why Austin fell a few spots down, but it still did praise the "Live Music Capital of the World" as a “hub of innovation and talent,” known for “its progressive spirit.”

Coming in at no. 53 is Dallas, where the outlet ranked the city high for connectivity, with “the third busiest” airport on earth, and is home to “more than 10,000 corporate headquarters."

In case you're wondering, in the top five are:

  • London
  • New York
  • Paris
  • Tokyo
  • Singapore

So, not bad for the Lone Star state to compete against those!
