Texas Artists Shine In Billboard’s Top 100 Songs Of The 21st Century
This past Friday, Billboard released their list of the Top 100 Songs of the 21st Century & incredibly, there's a good number of different artists from Texas that has made the list.
Essentially this list looked at, what they thought, were some of the best songs to have been released since 2001.
The list has received some strong opinions the songs that made the list and (more importantly), ones that DIDN'T make the list. But before we go there, here are the big names that represent Texas that DID make the list, starting off with the ones ranking between 100-51:
- #96. Beyoncé ft. Sean Paul - Baby Boy
- #94. Usher & Alicia Keys - My Boo
- #88. Nelly - Hot in Herre
- #86. Ciara ft. Petey Pablo - Goodies
- #79. Beyoncé - Irreplaceable
- #72. Usher - Burn
- #61. Destiny's Child - Independent Women Part I
- #57. Usher - U Got It Bad
- #55. Travis Scott - Sicko Mode

Here are the ones that cracked the top 50 (this list is a bit shorter):
- #43. Post Malone ft. 21 Savage - Rockstar
- #41. Nelly ft. Kelly Rowland - Dilemma
- #35. Post Malone - Sunflower
- #13. Post Malones - Circles
- and the top ranked artist was Usher ft. Lil Jon & Ludacris - Yeah! at #11
Now admittedly, there ARE some songs that deserve to be on there but even I have to say, there were MANY songs that got snubbed from this list. We're not even talking about rock either as there was only ONE rock song on the entire list.
I know rock bands aren't as popular now in today's music scene but I still would've loved to see more rock representation from Billboard, especially when we're looking at bands from the 21st century. Disturbed, System of a Down, Linkin Park...those were names I would've loved to see.
