A brand new restaurant is shaking its tail feathers towards the borderland. Slim Chickens, a "fast-casual restaurant chain which specializes in chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, salads, wraps, chicken & waffles, and other items" will make its mark in El Paso and in Las Cruces.

Detail as to when the restaurant would start being built and when they would open were unavailable. Slim Chickens has signed a deal with Dennis Ekstrom, who is a multi-unit owner of 10 Del Taco restaurants with more than 30 years of restaurant ownership experience. Okay, but if he could bring a Del Taco to El Paso that would be impressive.

Slim Chickens opened their first location in 2003 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The chain has over 100 locations in 19 states and also has international locations in Kuwait and the United Kingdom.

Looking up the Slim Chickens menu, you'll find their focus is mainly fresh chicken tenders, wings, salads, sandwiches, wraps, chicken & waffles, and southern-fried sides like pickles, okra, and fried mushrooms. You'll also find a "Southern Style Family Meal". Slim Chickens also offers 17 house-made dipping sauces for a variety of choices. Their passionate group of followers call themselves "Slimthusiasts".

As El Paso continues to grow, more and more national and regional chains have taken notice. Soon, we'll be welcoming a Weck's, a Dutch Bros. Coffee, and we have recently opened up a Summer Moon Coffee shop, which look amazing! While we may not have an In-N-Out Burger or a Cheesecake Factory, we sure do have a variety of choices, and El Paso does love their food. So I'm sure Slim Chickens will be welcomed to the 915 with open arms.
