See a Sneak Peek of Fred Loya’s Christmas Light Shows (Yes, SHOWS!)
Fred Loya loves him some Christmas lights, and his hometown loves seeing them! This year, WE get to see 'em FIRST! (Thanks to the Loyas' elves for the exclusive sneak peak!)
The El Paso insurance executive began thrilling Holiday passers-by 14 years ago. Each year, the shows got a little more elaborate and the crowds got a little bigger. These days the light show is SO elaborate it requires nearly half a million lights, a set schedule and traffic police.
But if you're always trying to make things bigger and better, what do you do to keep topping last year's show?
How about TWO shows?
That's right, this year the Loya family will debut a second light show – a techno/dance music spectacular to accompany the more traditional Holiday mix. (See the exclusive short sneak peek of the techno show above.)
On each show night beginning Friday, Nov. 30, the 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. shows will feature traditional music while the techno show will start at 7 p.m.
After the first weekend, whichever show proves to be more popular, that show will play twice a night at 6 and 8 p.m.
So, in addition to Johnny Mathis and Michael Bublé, you can ask when DJ Clauz is droppin' that bass!
For the full sneak-peek click here for the techno show, and here for the traditional show beginning at noon Thanksgiving Day; then make plans to head to 12001 Paseo del Oro near Montwood High school beginning Nov. 30 and see it in person!
Despite the crush of spectators descending on a private neighborhood, the Loya family works to make this El Paso Holiday tradition a joyous one. Visitors can get free hot chocolate and cookies after every show, plus Santa selfies and more.
