Road Trips Are Sometimes Required for a Deftones Fan in the 915

As a Deftones fan living in El Paso, we have learned to accept the good with the bad. It is always a good thing when Deftones either go on tour or perform at a festival. As for the bad, El Paso isn't always guaranteed to have Deftones perform in town. Unfortunately, Deftones aren't planning to stop in El Paso for their summer tour this year. Although the guys don't perform that often here in town, they at least perform in cities we can take a road trip to.

I am thankful that I got to see Deftones for all the shows they did perform in El Paso. The picture of Chino Moreno on stage with the star on the mountain in the background was here in El Paso. It was when the guys headlined Texas Showdown Tattoo and Music Festival at the County Coliseum. Another fond time I remember seeing them was when they performed at Club 101 when it was on Airway.

Over the years I have traveled to see Deftones when they're performing anywhere else except El Paso. In 2018 the band was set to perform for a new music festival called Botanica Music Festival. The concert stages were set up all throughout different areas at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. As soon as word got out about their first Dia de Los Deftones festival I got on the ball to get tickets. I shared my first Dia de Los Deftones experience in San Diego, California with you. When the guys held their Dia de Los Deftones 2 last year I wasn't able to attend. Deftones will forever be the band I will always travel to see outside of El Paso, Texas.

It is still up in the air whether Deftones will continue with their summer tour plans or reschedule. The closest the guys will be playing on stage is in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Wednesday, August 5. Share what band you travel hundreds of miles for to see in concert on our KLAQ Facebook Page.
