Road Closures For West El Paso This Week

El Paso is having road construction all over the city. Find out where, when and what hours Westside streets will have construction this week.

The City of El Paso is working hard to make the streets better and easier for people to travel on in the future. Unfortunately, this means for the next few months and maybe years we will be dealing with more traffic than normal on various sides of town.

Please follow the detour signs in place on all projects. All work is dependent upon weather conditions.

Here are the road closures and lane restrictions for this week, December 12th through December 18th:

El Paso West Area Projects

Bridge Preventative Repair Project

Monday, Dec. 12, through Friday, Dec. 16

7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (throughout the day)

• Alternate lane closure on Cotton Street north and southbound between Missouri Avenue and Texas Street
• Alternate lane closure on Franklin Avenue north and southbound between Main Drive and Coldwell Street

Crews will be patching the I-10 bridge caps and columns.

Guardrail Repair Project

Monday, Dec. 12, through Friday, Dec. 16

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (throughout the day)

• Alternate lane closure on I-10 east and westbound between Anthony Avenue and Sunland Park Drive
• Alternate lane closure on Transmountain (Loop 375) east and westbound between US 54 and I-10
• Right lane closure on Spur 601 westbound between Global Reach Drive and Sgt. Major Boulevard

Crews will be repairing damaged guardrail in the area.

Maintenance

Monday, Dec. 12, through Friday, Dec. 16

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (throughout the day)

• Right lane closure on Spur 16 westbound between Isela Rubalcava and Doniphan Drive
• Left lane closure on Transmountain (Loop 375) east and westbound between Northwestern Drive and Plexxar Drive

Aesthetics Project - Phase III

Monday, Dec. 12, through Friday, Dec. 16

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Alternate left and right lane closures on Gateway East between Copia Street and Raynolds Street
• Alternate left and right lane closures on Gateway West between Chelsea Street and Raynolds Street

Crews will be working on the aesthetic towers.

Dyer (BU 54) Mill/Inlay Project

Monday, Dec. 12, through Friday, Dec. 16

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (throughout the day)

• Alternate shoulder closures on Dyer between Tiger Eye (mile marker 32) to Ashley Street (mile marker 34.5)

Note: Expect alternate complete lane closures in both directions; traffic will be allowed to flow through with flaggers in place. Reduce speed and watch for flaggers directing traffic. Expect delays.

Crews are milling.

Paisano Landscaping Project

• Alternate east and westbound lane closures on Paisano (US 62) between Eucalyptus Street and Montana Avenue

Rehabilitation/Operational Improvements Project

Monday, Dec. 12, through Friday, Dec. 16

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Alternate lane closure on I-10 east and westbound between David Road and Vinton overpass

Crews are working on share path.

Tom Mays Park Entrance Project

Monday, Dec. 12, through Saturday, Dec. 17

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Alternate east and westbound lane closures on Transmountain (Loop 375) between Paseo Del Norte and the Main Gap (mile marker 17)

Crews are working on the share path crossing for this project.

Border West Expressway

Paisano Drive (US 85)

Wednesday, Dec. 14, to Saturday, Dec. 17

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (nightly full closure)

• Westbound and eastbound from San Francisco to Spur 1966

Closure is to construct crossover to place two-way traffic on the eastbound lanes.

Delta Drive

Full closure until re-opening on Friday, Dec. 23, at 5 a.m.

• Westbound and eastbound from San Marcial Street to Coles Street

This closure will last approximately two weeks to complete the work on Delta Drive.

Torres Street

Saturday, Dec. 10, to Friday, Dec. 23

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (daily full closure)

• One-way traffic from Vista Hills Street to Racetrack Street

This closure is to work on utilities.

Loop 375

Tuesday, Dec. 20, to Wednesday, Dec. 21

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (nightly closure)

• Westbound from US 54 to Park Street

This closure is to install an overhead-sign bridge structure.

Eastbound I-10 from Sunland Park to Porfirio Diaz

The following rolling closures are needed for structures work.
