World Cup 2022 Could Have El Paso Representation in Qatar
It has been eight long years since the United States Men's National Team has been to a World Cup. Eight years- the U.S. Women's National Team won their World Cup 2019 but that's neither here nor there.
In those eight years, we saw the USMNT kind of struggle- but still work very hard. It finally all paid off because yesterday, the men made it and are on their way to Qatar for the World Cup this year!
That's right, this November (because World Cup is not happening in the summer this year), thirty-two teams will be competing in the 2022 FIFA Men's World Cup, which will take place in Qatar- and the United States is now one of them!

The U.S. Men’s National Team has qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after a 2-0 loss at Costa Rica on the final matchday of Concacaf World Cup qualifying, although it was a loss their points were enough to qualify them. Possibly going with them to Qatar? Ricardo Pepi!
Although the 19-year-old has had a bit of a goal drought, USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter has big plans for the striker as the men head to World Cup 2022. After their qualification win, Pepi celebrated with the rest of team.
Taking to Instagram, Pepi shared the excitement of USMNT qualifying and let everyone know he's ready for Qatar if chosen to be on the team!
I am so excited for World Cup this year, and I'm especially excited to know that I'll not only be able to cheer for my country again, but for an El Pasoan! World Cup 2022 begins November 21.
