The Plaza Classic Film Festival’s Plaza Outdoor series returns this weekend for the first of two weekends of free movies and concerts just down the street from the Plaza Theatre.

And it would not be complete without the annual open-air showing of the granddaddy of interactive movies: The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

On Friday and Saturday nights this weekend and next, a free movie will be screened outdoors, and as has become tradition, a performance by one of our many talented local bands will precede each movie.

The movies start at 9 p.m. with the local musical flavor getting underway at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s Plaza Classic Film Festival theme is women filmmakers, so all the artists preforming are female solo artists or female-fronted bands.

This Week: Rocky Horror, Sign O Times

The cult classic and El Paso fan favorite The Rocky Horror Picture Show returns for the 14th year.

You don't have to be a Sweet transvestite from Transexual Transylvania to do The Time Warp at the free outdoor showing, but you're more than welcome to dress as one. As is customary at any screening of the cult classic, costumes, and loud singing isn't just welcomed, it's encouraged.
