New Mexico Man Arrested for Throwing Banana Peel at Dave Chappelle

A New Mexico man decided to take out his frustration on Dave Chappelle by throwing a banana peel at him. The man believed Chappelle was being racist towards his friend, so he thought throwing the banana peel would shut him up. Instead, the man's actions got him arrested.

According to the police report, 30-year-old Christian Englander did admit to stop at a convenience stop and buying a 99 Bananas shot, along with an actual banana. The man kept the banana peel in his back pocket.

During the show in Santa Fe, Englander felt Chappelle was being racist towards his friend, after asking what his friend's name was. The guy responded with "Johnny Appleseed" and reportedly Chappelle kept making jokes about his name .

That's when Englander reportedly decided to throw the banana peel. Audio of Chappelle's reaction showed up online Tuesday, and I think he handled it like a champ.

Chappelle did press charges on Englander, who was highly intoxicated. Englander was booked into the Santa Fe County Detention Center, charged with battery and disorderly conduct. He bonded out of jail Tuesday evening.
