All Hail the New Krampus King and Queen of El Paso
El Paso once again has a new Krampus king and queen and this year's winners will make sure you aren't on the naughty list!
This past weekend I got to judge the adult Krampus contest at the seventh annual Krampus Fest held by Kaleidoscope Art Market. Despite the cold, many came out to the market and this year's market was bigger than ever and was held at the El Paso County Coliseum. This was my fifth year judging and I was excited to see this years contestants.
I, along with four other judges- performance artist Fish the Clown, KFOX's Laura Bagwell, KTSM's Karla Draksler and Tony Rodriguez of the EP County Coliseum had the toughest time trying to find our winners! In the end, though, only one king and queen could reign supreme!
I present to you your 2023 Krampus king and queen:
Did the winners scare me? A little bit! There was also a Krampus prince and princess, but I didn't make it on time to Krampus Fest to judge that one, but they also looked amazing!
This year, there were so many vendors and lots of great performances- and of course, it was all hosted by the great BoOsty.
The market itself is always cool, it's full of local vendors who sell something for everyone, and it's also just a great opportunity to shop local and get some holiday gifts. As my fifth year judging, the Krampus contest is always my favorite.
Thank you to Kaleidoscope Art Market for allowing me to be part of this event, every year it gets bigger and bigger and I'm so happy to see it get the recognition it deserves! This year was particularly special because they also held a drive to benefit the Reynolds Home- and so many El Pasoans were generous with their donations!
Kaleidoscope Art Market always has great events, and I'm very lucky that I'm asked to participate in some. You can keep up with their events here, and get ready for their next event, the Anime Addicts Art Show and Market taking place on January 6 also at the EP County Coliseum, see ya there!
