El Paso is about to get its geek on as the El Paso Public Library hosts LibraryCon, a free family-friendly celebration of comics, cosplay, and all things pop culture. But before families dive into the comics and cosplay of LibraryCon, adults get a night all their own.

El Paso Public Libraries Presents: Villain’s Night

On Friday, September 19 from 6–9 p.m., Margin Notes Book Bar at 7460 Cimarron Market Ave., will transform into the city’s ultimate villain lair. Appropriately titled Villains Night, this special 18+ event is designed for grown-up fans who want to unleash their inner baddie. Expect cosplay contests, themed prizes, music, and a lively crowd ready to toast to the darker side of fandom. With a book-bar atmosphere, it’s the perfect blend of literature, libations, and a little bit of mischief.

Then on Saturday, September 20, the spotlight shifts downtown for LibraryCon at the El Paso Main Library. Free and family-friendly, this all-day event celebrates comics, gaming, vendors, artists, and cosplay. It’s a chance for El Pasoans of all ages to connect with local creators, pick up one-of-a-kind art, and enjoy a convention experience right in the heart of the Borderland.

By splitting the festivities into two parts, the El Paso Public Library ensures there’s something for everyone- grown-ups can enjoy a night of costumed fun at Margin Notes, while families can dive into a full day of geek culture the very next day. Whether you’re suiting up as your favorite hero, channeling your inner villain, or just coming to browse, this two-day celebration is proof that El Paso knows how to bring the fun.
