This weekend's episode of "48 Hours" highlights a saga that we have been following for years- the Forrest Fenn treasure hunt.

This week, we were able to interview journalist and author Daniel Barbarisi about his new book, Chasing the Thrill: Obsession, Death, and Glory in America's Most Extraordinary Treasure Hunt.

Daniel went into details about his years long dive into people's, and his own, obsession with New Mexico millionaire Forrest Fenn's hidden treasure. From Barbarisi, we were able to learn additional details about the hunt and how far people were willing to go to find the treasure.

Now, the new episode of "48 Hours" will focus on Fenn's treasure hunt that he launched in 2010. For a decade treasure hunters around the world spent thousands of hours and dollars looking for the treasure with an estimated worth of $1 million dollars hidden somewhere in the Rocky Mountains.

In the "48 Hours" episode, people will be able to see rarely seen photos, new interviews, and learn new details people may not have known before. The episode also features an interview with one of the treasure hunters who became stranded on a mountain during a hunt for the treasure with his friend. His friend unfortunately froze to death on the mountain and the hunter details his harrowing ordeal on the mountain.

While the story of Forrest Fenn's treasure keeps growing, more and more details keep coming to light, even though the treasure has already been found. The episode is another way for those of us, like me, who have obsessed over every details of the hunt to find out new things we may have never known.

The episode of "48 Hours: The Fenn Treasure" will air this Saturday, May 22nd on CBS.
