Las Cruces Shines In New Romance Movie Now Streaming
Las Cruces has been giving Hollywood plenty of reasons to stick around.
At this point, it feels like every few months another movie crew rolls into town, another production starts filming around Mesilla or downtown, and somebody’s cousin suddenly ends up working as an extra in a major film.
But it kind of makes sense. Between the Organ Mountains, the desert scenery, historic downtown spots, and that unmistakable Borderland look, southern New Mexico already feels cinematic before the cameras even show up.
Now, another Las Cruces-shot movie is officially out in the world.

New Romance Film Showcases Las Cruces
The romance film 3 had it's official premiere at the Las Cruces International Film Festival and is now streaming on platforms including Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, DirecTV, and Fandango after filming throughout Las Cruces and Mesilla in 2024.
The movie was filmed at several recognizable locations including Palacio Bar in Mesilla, Downtown Las Cruces, St. Andrew’s, and Chope’s in La Mesa.
The film follows a lonely artist named Kai, played by actor Michael Paré, who learns he only has three days left to live. After meeting a woman named Mia, he’s forced to confront his fears and rethink his life.
Director Peter Ney said the desert landscape became part of the story itself, which honestly feels very true for this area. That southern New Mexico landscape has a look and atmosphere you really can’t fake on a studio set.
