One sobering fact about El Paso is the amount of people who don't have food to eat. It's such a sad thought to think about. We have many organizations to help combat that; thanks to the efforts of The El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank & this organization: the Kelly Center for Hunger Relief.

Their headquarters are located at 915 N Florence St & they have a total of 6 different programs to help El Pasoans have food, clothes, & basic resources that they need to survive.

These programs include the

KTSM 9 news even did a story about the Community Closet program being start last month.

Throughout the month of October they have a few events where people can donate food & win prizes for their donations.

Their Fresh Start Food Drive is already underway until November 10th. People are encouraged to donate food at any of the 3 Jason's Delis locations in El Paso during the hours that the stores are open.

The other big event they have is their El Paso Giving Day event on October 20th that's going on at their headquarters. People who donate can sign up can be eligible for contests for their donations.

The Kelly Center for Hunger Relief are open 5 days a week:

  • Tuesday - Friday: 9am to 2pm
  • Saturday: 9am to 12 noon.
