Former U.S. Representative Beto O’Rourke (D-El Paso) was a guest on the Buzz Adams Morning Show. Beto, who ran and nearly beat Ted Cruz for his Senate seat in 2018 THEN ran for President in 2020 may be considering a run in 2022 against Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

According to Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa, it’s something O’Rourke is definitely considering.

“I know he’s thinking about it”, Hinojosa told the Austin Statesman. “He’s got to decide what’s best for him and his family.”

The Statesman story also stated that they’d been unable to reach O’Rourke for comment.

“Well…WE had reached him”, I thought as we were doing the interview. “Maybe WE should just ask him.”

We’re including the audio so you can hear Beto O’Rourke’s answer for yourself.

Other highlights from the Beto interview include:

Joe Biden’s first Whataburger experience and what he ordered.

Why Beto attended Trump’s inauguration in 2016 DESPITE criticism from some of his supporters.

Why he thinks Cruz should NOT have attended Biden’s inauguration last Wednesday.

So, what do you think? SHOULD Beto O’Rourke make a run for governor against Republican Greg Abbott next year?

Things to consider:

Abbott is running for his third term as Texas Governor (Texas doesn’t have gubernatorial term limits).

Beto narrowly lost to Cruz for Senate in 2018. It was the closest a Democrat has come to winning a Texas senate race in forty years.

O’Rourke may have another job offer soon. There’s a lot of speculation that he may be asked to take a position in the Joe Biden administration.

But…O’Rourke says he hasn’t had any conversations about any such job.
