A 12-year-old Alamogordo girl got drunk, swiped the family car and took 3 of her friends for a joy ride.

They ended up with local and state police chasing them along Highway 70, almost hit a deputy and eventually wrecked the car as they attempted to elude Police.  According to KVIA.com:

The young driver was referred to juvenile services on charges of reckless driving and DWI. According to police documents, the four children told authorities that they all had been drinking. - KVIA

Alamogordo Police Chief Brian Peete told the Alamogordo Daily News:

“We’re coordinating legal options now. Coordinating with the city attorney, the district attorney and JPPO to try to figure out what’s next,” Peete said.

APD is also working with the Alamogordo Public Schools as a part of a “comprehensive approach to disciplinary action,” Peete said. “We’re using a coordinated effort to get to the bottom of this.”

Fortunately, no one was injured in the chase or the crash. Once they get home to their parents though .......
